Before you decide whether it is worth starting to tutor, it is worth knowing how much you can realistically earn. The answer depends on the subject, the level and the number of lessons a week. Below are real prices from profiles on Sprelli.

How much an hour of tutoring really costs

Most lists on the internet give ranges that nobody measured. We give prices from profiles published on Sprelli, because those are the only numbers we answer for.

The cheapest hour costs PLN 50, the most expensive PLN 170. Half of the profiles are below PLN 68 for sixty minutes.

The spread comes from the subject, the level and experience, not from ranges imposed by the platform, because there are none with us. The tutor sets the rate and changes it whenever they like.

*As of 20 October 2026, based on 42 published Sprelli profiles.*

How to set your own rate

Start at the bottom of the range and go up. The first lessons are worth more as reviews than as income, and a profile with a few reviews defends a higher price on its own.

Look at the profiles of tutors teaching the same subject and level. All prices on Sprelli are open, so you do not have to guess.

Do not work out your rate from how much you want to earn in a month. Work it out from how much your hour of preparing and teaching is worth. The number of lessons is a separate decision and changes every week.

How much of it you keep

From a completed lesson the platform charges a flat 15% commission, with no plans or monthly fees. The rest goes to you after the lesson has ended.

There are none of the costs that usually eat into in-person tutoring: you do not commute, you do not print materials, you do not rent a room.

How much comes out per month depends on the number of lessons, which only you know. Enter your rate and number of lessons in the commission calculator, and it will work it out for you.

What affects the rate?

**Experience and reviews.** A tutor with reviews can usually ask for a higher rate than someone with no history. **Qualifications.** A relevant degree and a language certificate (CELTA, IELTS Examiner) justify higher prices. **The student’s level.** The extended matura, preparation for olympiads or university entrance exams are the best-paid cases. **Availability.** Free times in the evenings and at weekends are convenient for students.

How much you keep from one lesson

We deduct a 15% commission from every completed lesson. For a lesson priced at PLN 68 (the median price on Sprelli) you keep PLN 57.80 before tax and contributions. How much that comes to in a month depends on the number of lessons, and that cannot be promised in advance.
