Frequently asked questions

Polish tutoring

An essay must have: a clear thesis, at least 2 arguments supported by reference to a set text or a cultural text, and a coherent conclusion. A tutor will analyse your practice essays and show you how to improve the structure and style.
The exam refers to texts from grades 4–8. The key ones are: “Pan Tadeusz”, “Romeo and Juliet”, “Stones for the Rampart”, “The Little Prince”, “The Revenge”, “The Lighthouse Keeper”. You will find the exact list on the CKE website.
Stylistic devices (epithet, metaphor, simile, personification, anaphora, rhetorical question) appear in test tasks: you have to recognise and name them. A tutor teaches them on specific examples from texts, not through dry definitions.
Yes: a tutor assesses your essays and discusses mistakes in real time, on a whiteboard or through shared documents. The results are comparable to in-person tutoring, and the choice of tutors is much larger.
